As many of you already know, a close call 12½ years ago changed our perspective on life, and resulted in our move to the Cape West Coast where we’ve blissfully developed our idea of Eden over the years.
We endured the Cape Drought for the first 3 years, and survived the Pandemic a couple of years after that. We’ve gone gray and grayer, lost beloved family with 2, 3 and 4 legs, and (not slowly) edged closer to the front of the Queue of Mortality. The generation below us now looks at us with that “compassionate” and “helpful” look – oh, the horror!
And so…we rebel! Onward to adventure! We refuse to be pensioners (unless there’s a discount involved!) and retirement is easy to say but would probably turn us into frustrated, bad-tempered, wrinkly beasts. We may slow down though.
We will start our adventure on a Pacific island, with white sand beaches and calm azure waters, starfish and turtles – with a few logistical mountains to conquer first.
if you would like to follow our progress, with our 3 hounds, I’ll keep you updated here. Meanwhile we continue our slow goodbye to The Bee’s Knees and The Lazy Daisies.
